Join NAMI-DE as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary and participate in the WALK FOR THE MIND OF AMERICA! Families, friends, TEAMS-TEAMS-TEAMS! Please come celebrate our 6th ANNUAL WALK to help us STOP THE STIGMA associated with mental illness!
The DISTANCE WALK will be held on May 2, 2009 in Wilmington.
The goal of the WALK is to raise awareness of the need for our community, and to raise financial contributions to be used in the Delaware in the following ways:
- To provide support to persons with serious brain disorders and to their families.
- To educate families and consumers.
- To advocate for nondiscriminatory and equitable policies at the federal, state, and local levels and in the private sector.
- To advocate for improved opportunities for housing, rehabilitation and meaningful jobs.
- To support public education programs designed to help eliminate the pervasive stigma surrounding severe mental illness.
