NAMI Sucesses for Fiscal Year 2009

• Held the 7th Annual NAMIWALK for the Mind of America on Saturday May 2nd. The event was attended by 500 individuals, consumers, sponsors and people throughout the community.
• Made 185 presentations on mental illness and NAMI-DE programs/services to over 3,900 people of area businesses, religious institutions, colleges, local state chambers, statewide mental health clinics, community health fairs/wellness events, psychiatric hospitals, and rotary clubs.
• Provided housing for over 242 individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Including opening a new group home in Newark for men and women coming out of Delaware Psychiatric Center.
• Responded to over 1,000 phone calls via our “Warm Line” providing emotional support for families and loved ones dealing with mental illness.
• Family To Family classes were held in partnership with the VA Hospital and AstraZeneca. Family support groups continued to thrive throughout Delaware.
• 200 consumers received services via NAMI Connection and Peer-To-Peer.
